The Monkey's Paw by W.W. Jacobs

Something that interest me was that the title just sounded weird and funny so I decided to read it. The plot of the story was a father was granted three wishes. He spent all his wishes on trying to get back his dead son. But while his wish was being granted he saw the awful way his son had died. And with his last wish he wished he had never wished that in the first place. The theme would be to not wish for things because they don't always have a happy ending to them and sometimes things happen for a reason. The story made me think that I shouldn't wish for things because everything that is important to me I already have. I would recommend this story to others because its a way to show that things happen for a reason.
